CLIMPING.

 

Excited kids who run amok

Playful puppy’s snaffled sock

Sand-flies at the water’s edge

Sunlit fields and tufts of sedge

Crinkly sands my loping strides

Horizons where the seabirds fly

Pebbly beaches - dappled sky

Deepest thoughts at eventide

 

Welcome café near the shore

Ablution block so sprucely kept

Lawns to lie upon and snore

Once the sun beats fiercest

Perfect place to park a car

Tickets issued by request

Watch the shipping from afar

Smell the ozone’s tanginess

 

Cuttle-fish and bladder-rack

Washed up in the spitting surf

Wooden breakers on the beach

Hint of breeze to cool the earth

Travellers from far afield weave

A journey through the weald

Take nostalgic glances round

Solaced by the seagull sound
